  • Transcaval-Access TAVR Appears to Be ‘Attractive’ Alternative to Transfemoral Approach: TVT Registry Analysis

    Among experienced transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) operators, contemporary transcaval access resulted in a lower risk of stroke and similar bleeding complications in comparison with transaxillary access, although both of these alternative approaches showed increased complications compared to transfemoral access, according to a new analysis of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons/American College of Cardiology Transcatheter Valve Therapy (TVT) Registry.
