Women with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) with cardiogenic shock (CS) are less likely to receive guideline-recommended care, including revascularization, and have worse in-hospital outcomes when compared with men, registry data show.
The study, published online Monday and in the March 28 issue of JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions, examined sex differences in the risk profile, management and outcomes among patients presenting with AMI-CS after previous data showed that sex disparities exist in the management and outcomes of AMI without CS.
