    Patients with rapidly deteriorating or severe cardiogenic shock did not have improved clinical outcomes when veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) was immediately implemented compared to its later use when patients had worsening blood flow complications, according to new randomized trial results.
