For outpatient care of normotensive patients with acute pulmonary embolism (PE), the triaging strategy based on the pragmatic rule, Hestia, was noninferior to the strategy based on the severity risk assessment score, simplified Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (sPESI), with respect to the composite endpoint of recurrent venous thromboembolism, major bleeding and death.
