COAPT Analysis: MitraClip ‘Did Not Modify Association’ Between Rehospitalization, Subsequent Death
A new analysis of the COAPT trial revealed that, the lower rate of rehospitalization among patients with moderate-to-severe or severe mitral regurgitation (MR) secondary to heart failure (HF) treated with MitraClip and maximally tolerated guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) did not have an effect on the MitraClip patients’ lower mortality rate as compared to patients who received GDMT alone.
