  • Editorial: Predicting Transradial Access (TRA) Difficulty - We're Getting Better

    Transradial access (TRA) for coronary angiography and intervention has become the preferred approach for vascular access, compared with transfemoral access (TFA), due to its better safety and comfort benefits for our patients and economic benefits to our healthcare systems  . The Achilles' heel for TRA has always been its higher failure rate leading to crossover to another vascular access site, compared with TFA. Risk factors for TRA failure have been well-described, including advanced age, short stature, and female gender  .
