For interventional cardiologists, maintaining and increasing knowledge requires more than keeping up with the literature that informs our evidence-based medical care. After all, clinical trials tell us about the average patient but not necessarily the one we are treating. To target our therapies to a particular patient, personal experience and interchange with colleagues about specific cases is critical. The format for sharing this information is often accomplished in morning conferences. I participate in three such conferences at three different hospitals and have formed some opinions about their educational value.
