Atrial functional mitral regurgitation: Is a scoring system enough to evaluate residual regurgitation following transcatheter edge-to-edge repair?
We read with great interest the study by Rottländer et al. [ ] in an effort to investigate the impact of residual mitral regurgitation (MR) following transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) on 1-year survival and rehospitalization in atrial functional MR (aFMR) compared to ventricular functional MR (vFMR). Although the results are promising, clinical and methodological questions are raised.
