  • Reply to the Letter to the Editor: Response to “Postoperative Myocardial Injury and Outcomes in Liver and Kidney Transplant Patients”

We thank Dr. Ferjani et al. for their thoughtful comments in response to our study titled “Postoperative myocardial injury and outcomes in liver and kidney transplant patients”  . They have conducted a similar retrospective study to ours  , evaluating the association between myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery (MINS) and 30-day and 1-year major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in a French liver transplant population. They found that in 116 patients undergoing liver transplantation, MINS was not associated with MACE at 30 days or one year. This finding contrasts with our study, in which liver and kidney transplant recipients with MINS are significantly more likely to develop MACE at one year compared to those without MINS. Their study is not currently published elsewhere and was not available for review.
