  • Editorial: The resistance movement in coronary physiology

    Invasive coronary physiology involves two fundamental parameters: pressure (P) and flow (Q). The regulating factor is resistance (R) of whatever the flow must pass through, which in this case is the coronary artery and its subtended myocardium. The relationship is commonly expressed as the simple hydraulic formula: R = ∆P/Q = pressure difference/flow. The simplicity ends here.
