    Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and the proportion of CV deaths increases as renal function declines. Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is the primary driver for CV death in patients with CKD [  ] and treatment attrition may be an important contributor to their increased mortality [  ,  ].
