    Cardiogenic shock (CS) is most broadly defined as a state of circulatory failure resulting in end organ hypoperfusion. CS is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in cardiovascular disease. Patients who experience CS may present with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), decompensated heart failure (HF), cardiac arrest, pulmonary embolism, myocarditis and thus compromise a heterogenous cohort of patients who require prompt but varying and distinct treatments.
