  • Factors Associated With the Use of Bare Metal Stents in Patients With ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction

    Abstract

    Background

Drug eluting stents (DES) are used in the majority of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Factors associated with the use of bare metal stents (BMS) for patients undergoing primary PCI for ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) have not been adequately explored. The objective of this study was to evaluate factors associated with BMS use in STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI.
