  • Editorial: Timing of Intervention in Patients With Severe Aortic Stenosis: Reading in a Crystal Ball

    Aortic stenosis (AS) is the most common heart valve disease observed in clinical practice. Prevalence of severe AS is estimated at 3.4 % in over-75 year-olds  . Management of symptomatic patients with severe AS is now well documented in the literature and in the American (class IA) and European (Class IB) guidelines  . In contrast, the management of asymptomatic patients with severe AS is more controversial.
