    It must have been around 25 years ago, at the head office of Biotronik in Berlin; Professor Bernd Heublein  , a former East German thoracic surgeon and – after escaping to the West – an eminent scientist, was involved in many research projects as a designer and developer  . We were discussing and agreeing that one of the major indications for the new bioabsorbable magnesium stent should be younger patients with an acute (anterior wall) myocardial infarction.
