Heart failure (HF) is one of the leading causes of hospitalization in US. Studies have shown a significant association between pattern of discharge disposition and recurrent hospitalization [ ]. Prior data have shown that patients being discharged prematurely to a facility or with limited at home are more prone to readmissions [ , ]. We examined temporal trends and disparities in discharge disposition using nation-level database with the focus on age, sex, racial, ethnic, income and region among patients with acute HF.
