At a time when absorbable scaffolds have almost lost their creditability , Haude et al. have published the 3-year follow-up of the BIOSOLVE-II and BIOSOLVE-III studies, performed with a metallic absorbable scaffold. Because the magnesium backbone is absorbed within a year, it is a different system from what has been published so far in clinical trials on bioabsorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS).
