Lacunar stroke and cerebral small-vessel disease (cSVD) are strongly associated with basilar artery dolichoectasia (BADE) and wider intracranial arteries but not with large-artery stenosis (LAS), according to new data that challenge the role of atherosclerosis-focused mechanisms in lacunar stroke and cSVD.
