  • Microaxial Flow Pump Provides Early Left Ventricular Unloading in STEMI-Related Cardiogenic Shock

Early placement of a microaxial flow pump (mAFP) provides significant left ventricular unloading in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction-related cardiogenic shock (STEMI-CS) by reducing native cardiac output (CO), pulmonary pressures and filling pressures while maintaining cardiac power output (CPO), according to new analysis of the DanGer Shock trial.
